Position: Payroll Technician
Location: Stockport Area
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00 (37.5 Hours per week)
Employment Type: Permanent Role
Responsibilities & Duties
1. Ensuring all payments are processed accurately and on time
2. Processing payroll as per each client’s/agency partner’s requirements
3. Managing a portfolio of clients and ensuring checklist is completed each payroll cycle
4. Assessment of the correct PAYE and National Insurance being levied on each pay slip
5. Reconciling payments on a weekly basis
6. Look into and resolve various technical payroll queries
7. Build rapport with clients and employees, delivering exceptional customer service
Required Skills and Qualifications
1. Experience in a Payroll Technician, Payroll Officer, Payroll Administrator or similar
2. Ideally fully or part CIPP qualified in Payroll Technician certificate, though not essential
3. Enthusiastic, with an ability to quickly build a warm relationship with customers, employees and subcontractors by telephone and email
4. Outstanding communication and organisational skills, customer focused, with an empathetic and caring attitude and commitment to ‘getting the job done’ before the end of each day
