A fantastic opportunity has become available to lead our Dementia and Falls Enhanced Care Team. The post holder will provide professional leadership for the delivery of a high quality, patient centred service for people living with Dementia, their families and/or carers. In addition, the successful candidate will lead the Falls Prevention service to reduce harm and promote patient safety in a newly developed Enhanced Care service for the Northern Care Alliance.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have specialist knowledge and experience working with people living with Dementia, providing senior leadership to the Enhanced Care Practitioners in the service. The post holder will work with the Assistant Director of Nursing to develop and implement strategies, protocols, pathways, and action plans, operationally translated to strengthen the management of Enhanced Care Services. This will include ensuring a robust professional approach to service development and improvement that meets the statutory, regulated requirements as outlined in legislation, guidance, and best practice.

Person specification
Registration
* Registered General Nurse Registered on Part 1 of the NMC or Registered Mental Health Nurse Or first level professional qualification in AHP/Social Work
Qualifications
* Relevant post registration experience and/or evidence of formal training at post graduate diploma level in a specialist area.
* Completed or working towards Masters qualification in a related subject or equivalent experience in a relevant specialist area.
* Completed post registration training including masters level education in Dementia care.
Knowledge
* Substantial experience in a senior clinical position (Band 7 or above).
* Evidence of extensive expert professional knowledge in area supplemented by specialist managerial / leadership training.
* Evidence of current knowledge of local and national policies, relevant professional and NHS policy initiatives
* Effective communicator able to communicate highly complex and sensitive information
* Extensive evidence of effective people management and leadership skills.
* Experience of setting and managing budgets.
