Job Description
After recent framework successes, we have a range of roles available for experienced electrical, instrumentation, control and automation (EICA) engineers in our Colwyn Bay, Manchester, Altrincham and Liverpool offices within our multidisciplinary Water Consultancy Division. We work on a vast range of design projects covering, for example:
1. Water treatment
2. Water distribution
3. Wastewater recycling
4. Industrial process water
5. Desalination
6. Irrigation
7. Hydropower
8. Flood defence
We cover all phases of the project lifecycle from feasibility studies through detailed design, construction support, and commissioning to handover. Providing leadership and mentoring to other electrical engineers, you will be responsible for checking and reviewing design documents and providing technical direction to projects.
Using your experience and expertise you will ensure that designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards. You will lead the integration of the electrical & ICA design with that of other disciplines and work in close partnership with clients and contractors.
Candidate Specifications
* Knowledgeable about a wide range of EICA tasks, including:
o Specifying local renewable and back-up generation systems
o Cabling and installation design
o Instrumentation selection
o Factory and site acceptance tests of equipment
* Qualified to HND level or higher in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
* Understanding of the importance of prioritising health, safety, and environmental issues
* Experience of successfully delivering high quality outputs in accordance with design, quality and safety standards
* Master’s degree in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline
* Chartered status with the Institution of Engineering and Technology or an equivalent body
* Experience of working in the water and/or wastewater industry
* Good understanding of pipeline hydraulics
* Good understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes
