Job Responsibilities
1. Development and testing of electrical, electronic and electro-mechanical systems.
2. Undertaking systems development testing and engineering related tasks in support of projects.
3. Design and development of system test suites.
4. Conducting development and qualification testing.
5. Schematic and design capture.
6. Component selection, advice and review.
7. Undertake reasonable tasks as directed by the engineering and project functions.
8. Undertake engineering tasks as required by the project and the business in support of projects and programmes.
9. Undertake testing and laboratory testing of products.
10. Participate in internal and external meetings as required by the business.
11. Document appropriately the work and activities undertaken in line with local operating procedures.
12. Occasional attendance and support of on-site commissioning or trials activities, which may require overseas travel.
Skills & Knowledge
1. Application of skills and knowledge appropriate to the development of electronic / electrical / mechanical systems in support of the development and support of products.
2. Skills and experience in the 'live' testing of low voltage (i.e. <1000V) electronics or electrical equipment.
3. Skills and experience in the design of digital and analogue electronic circuits is desirable.
4. Knowledge of software methodologies and some experience in programming skills desirable.
5. Adaptable and willing to perform a variety of tasks including electronic design and development, producing documentation/specifications, reports and presentations, testing, supporting equipment installation, design and assembly of test boxes/circuits, very occasional soldering and wiring.
6. Able to organise and support verification testing and qualification test programmes (e.g. EMC, shock, vibration, climatic, etc.).
7. Broad range of general engineering skills covering communication (Written and Verbal) through to systems engineering methodologies and understanding of safety and configuration control.
8. Ability to make clear and concise presentations and reports to customers and other stakeholders.
9. PC literate in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
10. Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
11. Good decision-making skills, with the ability to identify and evaluate potential solutions and consider the impact of decisions before acting.
12. Ability to take initiative, taking ownership of tasks and looking for improvements.
13. Ability to embrace innovation and creativity and demonstrate attempts to develop new ideas and test new concepts.
14. Ability to adopt a flexible approach and adapt and respond positively to change.
15. Ability to articulate own viewpoint confidently to influence team members.

Qualifications
1. HNC/HND/BTEC or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
2. Suitable development experience gained in previous Engineering role.
3. Driving licence.
4. Travel to alternative locations in the UK and abroad to undertake occasional off-site activities is required.
5. Working overtime and unsociable hours as and when required.
6. The successful candidate must be able to obtain the required Security Vetting Clearance.
