About the Role
A leading consumer goods company is seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager to join its R&D facility in Folkestone. This role will be responsible for managing the EU Technical Service Team, comprising chemists, packaging specialists, and process engineers. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting technical service activities for well-known brands and driving supply chain resilience.
This position requires a strong strategic mindset, technical expertise, and leadership skills to oversee projects, enhance processes, and support business operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the EU Technical Service Team, overseeing chemists, packaging experts, and process engineers.
* Drive technical service activities across the company’s EU operations, supporting well-known brands.
* Implement supply chain resilience and quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with operations teams.
* Manage and develop staff across various disciplines, ensuring effective resource allocation and workload prioritization.
* Act as a key representative for technical services in cross-functional teams, building strong partnerships with R&D, procurement, engineering, regulatory, and operations teams.
* Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
* Provide technical leadership and oversee cross-functional projects.
Candidate Requirements
* Strong technical leadership and project management skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
* A strategic mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation.
* Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* A degree (Bachelor’s or higher) in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific field.
* A minimum of five years of relevant experience, preferably within R&D and across multiple functions.
