Job summary We are looking for a part time Consultant in Palliative Medicine to join the well-established and highly respected Specialist Palliative Care Services in Buckinghamshire. The services are hosted at Florence Nightingale Hospice in Aylesbury, and are part of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. The post holder will join a team of 3 Consultants to support a wide range of palliative services, including the hospice, hospital, community, and hospice at home teams. The 12 bedded in patient hospice forms part of the rotation for Specialist Palliative Medicine Training in the Oxford Deanery; the GP VTS scheme and Foundation Year doctors. We also train medical students. The teams are constantly looking at ways to enhance patient care, and we have a large non-cancer patient cohort, as well as links with Oncology, Medicine for Older People and the Frailty teams. Working days required currently are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday but this may be subject to change in the future and there is a need to be flexible to cover colleagues' absence on occasion.
