We have a new opportunity to be part of the Aston Martin Performance Technologies team in the role of Junior Structures Engineer.
Reporting to the Structural Engineering Leader, the Junior Structures Engineer will perform calculations to assess the structural performance of components and assemblies, using both traditional hand calculations and commercial CAE software. You’ll work on a range of internal and external (non-F1) customer projects, collaborating across functions to develop innovative engineering solutions that offer competitive advantage.
Performing a wide range of structural and thermal calculations using traditional methods and commercial CAE software.
Identifying and interpreting mechanical load requirements and applying engineering analysis to produce design recommendations.
Managing your own tasks and projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
Communicating effectively with all project stakeholders to support collaborative success.
BEng / BSc or above in Mechanical, Automotive, Motorsport, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
A good amount of experience performing CAE calculations in Automotive, Motorsport, Aerospace or Academia.
Proficiency in Structural Finite Element Analysis, with experience in commercial CAE solvers (e.g. Experience with 2D and 3D design using CAD software such as Catia (3Dx), Siemens NX, or similar.
Solid understanding of materials and their behaviour, particularly composites.
Competency in structural analysis via traditional hand calculations and first principles.
Strong IT skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Passion for innovation and learning, with a proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude.
Willingness to travel as required to fulfil role responsibilities.
Flexible, team-oriented, and results-driven with sound decision-making skills.
This is a full-time office-based role based at our campus in Silverstone, with additional requirement to travel to other locations where necessary.
