NRL are proud to be supporting a ground breaking manufacturing business in Teesside in their search for a Deputy Production Manager.
The Deputy Production Managers is responsible for supporting the Production Manager in safe and efficient production, this will include ensuring the availability of labour and materials to ensure that production targets are achieved.
You will monitor and manage manufacturing schedule, to plan & monitor labour requirements to achieve customer requirements in terms of both delivery and quality.
You will also be expected to stand in for the Production Manager during periods of holidays and absence.

Ensure that daily operations meet and exceed daily performance expectations.
Ensure all staff follow the HSE policies.
Ensure all production conforms to the quality requirements of the client, and specification
Maintain discipline and safety at all times.
Maintain control of manufacturing equipment.
Notifying and escalating any issues that undermine the core values of Quality, Safety and delivery.
Participate and chair pre-production meetings.
Deliver safety briefs, toolbox talks and general communications to the production team.
Develop the production cycle and flow to ensure the safe and efficient production
Seeking way to increase plant output and productivity by continuous improvement, identifying and removing bottlenecks and implementing lean manufacturing techniques.
Seeking ways to minimize manufacturing costs by optimising the production flow.
Developing and implementing KPI metrics to monitor and control production performance.
Create, implement and maintain appropriate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP‘s) relevant to each relevant task within the production cycle.
The establishment of factory production management processes based on the initial plant operations.
Management, collation and analysis of key manufacturing data (yield / operation / defect rates / processing cost per ton) to help drive continuous improvement and make key decisions.
Compliance with all Health and Safety rules and standards.
Taking responsibility for the development of all workers within the Factory.
Line management Responsibility of the Production Supervisors.
Coaching and mentoring
Performing risk assessment (risk identification and safety work system).
Enforcement of safe systems of work, PPE.
Undertake daily/month/year/production/defect rate/project progress (production management & sales team (&PM) collaboration)/quality check
Quality system management (ISO 9001:2015)Experience/Education/Skills
Time Served Welder, Plater or Fabricator (or professional qualification from an appropriate awarding body such as C&G, NVQ).
Minimum of A to C GCSE’s grades in English and Maths (or Equivalent).
A health and Safety qualification, such as IOSH Managing Safley would be a distinct advantage.
Significant experience within a management or supervisory capacity.
Prior experience working in a steel structure or Fabrication industry using Roll or Press Bending and Submerged Arc Welding techniques.
Ability to inspire confidence and trust in others.
A strategic and creative thinker with a positive hands-on can-do-attitude.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with external parties.
Experienced leader with the ability to build strong relationships.
