Support Worker – Part Time
Ref: SOLODFY
Location
Didcot, Oxfordshire
Job Description
Hi, would you like to join my team? I am a young lady living at home with my family in Didcot, Oxfordshire. We are looking for additional team members to help support me in my home and out in the community. I enjoy socialising and going out so it’s important that you can drive my vehicle.
I have complex health and support needs which include some clinical support, so it’s important that I have confident and competent staff who are good communicators and can use my equipment safely. My support includes all aspects of daily living, such as personal care, feeding, administering medicines through my Mickey Tube, and moving and handling support including all transfers. I also require regular chest physio and suctioning. While I need this support, it’s important to me that I remain as independent as possible and have opportunities to choose and be involved in my decisions.
I have a person-centered support plan that will help my team support me effectively with my health and care needs. I also have a good existing team, which includes my mum as well as staff, some of whom have known me since I was little. It’s important to me that you get along with everyone and can have a laugh with us all.
Could you be the person to support me?
I require female drivers who have a clean, full UK driving license to drive my vehicle.
The ideal candidate will be committed, reliable, flexible, have a positive and caring nature with a cheerful personality, and possess excellent communication skills.
Experience in care and learning disabilities is desirable; however, this is a great opportunity for someone willing to learn and expand their knowledge in health and social care.
