Women’s Rugby World Cup England 2025 (Women’s RWC 2025) will be the 10th edition of the women's tournament.World Rugby, in partnership with the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and UK Sport, have formed a Local Operating Company to plan and deliver the event.
Ambitions for the tournament are at an all-time high as women’s rugby is one of the fastest growing team sports in the world. Women’s RWC 2025 will be the ultimate stage for the best players, teams and coaches from 16 nations across the globe and is set to be the biggest and most widely watched women's rugby event ever. We’re looking to appoint a Team Services Manager who will be responsible for managing the operational and logistical requirements for the 16 teams participating in the Women’s Rugby World Cup in 2025 and for ensuring the provision of the highest standards of team facilities and services. Reporting to the Head of Tournament, Team and Rugby Services in the LOC there will also be a close working relationships with the Rugby Services function.
What you’ll be doing:
·Manage the planning and delivery for the requirements of participating teams in relation to all operational and logistical activities including; Transport, Logistics, Catering, Accommodation, Training Facilities and Welcome Ceremonies.
·Assist in the proposal and tendering processes to appoint key suppliers and selecting providers for specialist pieces of work, ensuring budgets are carefully managed throughout.
·Reviewing and managing milestones as outlined in the tournament masterplan, ensuring all elements are met on time and to the desired standard, with risks identified and mitigated against.
·Work closely with other functional areas, both within the LOC, WREM and World Rugby to ensure standards are met and delivered.
·Work with teams to ensure/encourage compliance with RWC 2025 Terms of Participation throughout both planning and during tournament delivery.
·Operational planning and delivery of the team base facilities (which are made up of outdoor training venues, indoor training venues, high performance gyms and swimming pools).
·Ensure that teams are kept up to date with planning and required deadlines through regular and appropriate communication.
·Plan and deliver all elements of the meetings for Team Managers, including developing and presenting content, venue arrangements, transport and logistics. Facilitate and coordinate team site visits across England for all participating teams.
·Manage the team of Team Services Coordinator/Team Pool Coordinators and the tournament time team of Team Liaison Officers/Assistant Team Liaison Officers including recruitment, training, onboarding and deployment.
·Oversee and contribute to required team documentation, including team base guides and tournament handbooks, as well all LOC and wider WREM policies and procedures.
·Oversee and centrally manage all team services related issues and queries during planning and operations
·At all times,treat all teams equally and ensure the best possible services are afforded to all teams in the tournament regardless of ranking.
Experience & knowledge you’ll need:
·Experience of holding a senior management role within a major sporting event landscape or equivalent events.
·Experience of working in elite high performance sporting team environments.
·Demonstrable success in managing or leading a functional area/specific project portfolio from providing strategic direction and guidance through to overseeing operational planning and delivery.
* Proven success at building excellent working relationships and engagement with other departments.
* Proven track record of a flexible, hands-on approach to delivery and a problem solving attitude.
* Demonstrable success in supporting senior leaders, and providing managerial support and leadership to a team or workforce.
* Experience in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple individuals across a varied portfolio of responsibilities.
* Experience dealing with budgets, purchase order systems and project management tools.
