Job Title: Process Operator (Packing) Location: Carmarthen Contract: Permanent Hours: Full-time ( rotating four shift pattern - 12 hour days and 12 hour nights. 3 shifts per week) Reporting to: Production Manager To pack compound feeds, ensuring all bags are as specified in the Work Instructions, secure, correctly labelled and ink jetted, ensuring quality and output targets are met. To ensure production output meets production targets. To personally undertake Packer and related machinery maintenance as required within specified level of competence. To ensure that all activities are carried out safely and in accordance with appropriate risk assessments and work instructions and that appropriate PPE is used. Ensure all activities are within Health and Safety Regulations and Environmental Procedures. The role: Health & Safety - Ensure all operations on shift are carried out safely and conform to safety guidelines and risk assessments. Report risks and safety issues immediately. Ensure the use of appropriate PPE. Packing of Compound Feeds to maximise throughput while achieving agreed quality targets. Ensuring correct use of bags, labels, inkjet, pallets, bottom & top sheet application and stretch wrap. Ensure the pallets are correctly labelled. Ensure the Packing records and entries to SAP systems are accurate and timely. Maintain throughput through break times. Ensure rules for prevention of cross contamination are adhered to. Carry out check weighing as per Work Instruction. Maintenance - Personally carry out preventative maintenance to machinery within agreed level of competence to maintain plant operation. Contact appropriate engineering resource to assist with work required outside of agreed competence. Undertake training as required. Cleaning - Ensure all areas within the Packing area are kept clean and routine plant cleaning is carried out daily. Quality System - Ensure Packing operation conforms to work instructions and agreed targets for quality and service. This includes both products and procedures. Environment - Compliance with BS EN ISO 14001 Environmental Management and BS EN ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems. Ensure all Environmental Management System Work Instructions are followed in line with Environmental Procedures. Other Items - Assist as required in other areas of the operation within level of competence and training. The Person Must be numerate, literate and articulate. Ability to interpret quality and production data. Able to work rotating four shift pattern (12 hour Days and 12 hour Nights. 3 shifts a week).
