Role: Mechanical Estimator

We are recruiting on behalf of a prominent leader in the mechanical and electrical construction industry, for an experienced Mechanical Estimator. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and fast-paced team that consistently delivers large-scale projects across the UK, Ireland, and various European locations.
As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of tenders across multiple high-profile projects. Working closely with a skilled team, you will be responsible for maintaining tender documents, preparing accurate estimates, and collaborating with other departments to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and manage the tender folder to ensure all documentation is up to date and organised.
* Thoroughly review all tender documents before beginning an estimate, identifying and addressing any discrepancies between the specifications, drawings, and tender summaries.
* Accurately record and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) using the appropriate documentation.
* Prepare estimates in strict alignment with the provided tender summary.
* Clearly list assumptions, clarifications, value engineering (VE) options, and any relevant conditions.
* Submit tenders and update all costs in SharePoint.
* Keep all relevant details recorded on the King and Moffatt management system.
* Follow up on tenders and update records on SharePoint with outcomes.
* Attend and participate in internal and external meetings as required.
* Stay up to date with industry standards and best practices.
* Engage in continuous professional development in line with your training plan.
* Ensure compliance with Ireland and UK Terms and Conditions when submitting tenders.
* Attend tender handover meetings for successful projects to ensure a smooth transition.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the building services sector.
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Ability to use initiative and adhere to industry best practices.
* Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively within the wider estimating team and with other departments.
