Job Overview
This is an excellent opportunity to become an integral part of our Petroleum Engineering team in Norwich. You will be in charge of reviewing wells and fields in order to maximise production from matured assets. It will be expected that you propose well interventions and workover projects, then evaluate their feasibility and rank them based on their risks and rewards. This role will provide exposure to various surface and sub-surface challenges associated with managing production from gas reservoirs. The main qualities we are looking for in this role are: proactiveness, organisation, teamwork with various departments (drilling, well operations, process, metering), and a willingness to learn. Thinking outside the box is another asset we appreciate in Perenco.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production monitoring and surveillance. Populate and maintain live production and G&G databases. Being sensitive to the importance of data quality is essential.
2. Define bottlenecks and propose solutions to overcome them.
3. Preparation of workover/well intervention proposals: candidate screening and ranking, scope of work definition, production, and economics calculations.
4. Preparation of data acquisition programs (pressure surveys, cased hole logging).
5. Good knowledge of the main PE software packages is a must: Petex suite (GAP, MBAL, PROSPER) or PIPESIM.
6. Knowledge of Pressure-Transient analysis is preferred: PBU interpretations, use of KAPPA software.
7. Knowledge of cased-hole logging is preferred: PLT interpretation, resistivity behind casing to define WSO or additional perforations.
8. Support to Reservoir Engineers for Field Development Studies.
9. Some knowledge in reservoir engineering, drilling, and petroleum economics through past experience with multidisciplinary projects is preferred. Good communication with various departments is essential.
10. Challenge existing designs and well operational processes to propose optimisations in terms of technology and practice.
11. When necessary, visit the offshore platforms to attend drilling/WO/well interventions or any other optimisation jobs.
Safety Critical Tasks
There are a number of Safety Critical Tasks that you will be made aware of and systems you will be required to competently operate.
