Job overview
Mid Bedfordshire Community Health Services are looking for a full time Band 7 Occupational Therapy Clinical Lead to be part of the Community Occupational Therapy service within the Primary Care Home Team. You will need to be an experienced therapist to act as a source of sound clinical advice, focused on achieving real improvements in outcomes for patients and confident in your ability to support, coach and develop individuals and teams to deliver consistently high quality services.
You will assess clients within their place of residency to provide evidence based assessment, advice and equipment that will support their independence, quality of life and personal goals.
Key responsibilities
1. Work closely alongside all members of the therapy team: Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Assistant Practitioners and Rehabilitation Support Workers.
2. Build close links with the professionals and services required to wrap around the needs of each individual to provide a holistic approach.
3. Support clinical decision making and performance of the team, supervise qualified members of staff, and support student placements and mentoring for university apprenticeships.
4. Shape and develop the service provided in collaboration with Social Care colleagues and the acute settings.
Minimum Requirements
All applicants need to hold a degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the HCPC as well as holding leadership experience with team management skills. Due to the nature of the post, the applicant must be able to meet the travel requirements to travel across the county of Bedfordshire.
Education/ Qualification/ Training
Essential criteria
* BSc Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
* Health and Care Professional Council registered
* Post graduate experience in a variety of specialties
* Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable criteria
* Masters Qualification

* Significant and relevant post graduate experience, including community experience
* Significant experience of clinical leadership
* Evidence of and commitment to multi-professional working
* Demonstrate evidence-based practice and up to date clinical skills
* Ability to oversee multiple caseloads and monitor quality
* Practice Educator Trained and willing to have students
Desirable criteria
* Relevant teaching/mentoring and evidence of teaching skills
