Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an activity co-ordinator on The Vales. The Activity Co-ordinator role is a fast-paced, highly rewarding, patient-facing role integral to the smooth running and holistic offer of care and treatment on the female mental health rehabilitation ward. You will need to be creative and possess determination to continually improve, adapt, and mold the offers of therapeutic, recovery, and skill-based groups in order to promote recovery and independence amongst our service users.
The Vales provides assessment and intervention for women with severe and enduring mental ill-health in a locked environment to support their ongoing recovery and social integration. The service is focused on working towards independence and recovery to enable service users to regain health and mental wellness before moving on to live as independently as possible in an open environment or their local communities.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a creative individual who can use their own skills along with our resources to engage patients and support them in their recovery journey.
The aim of the role is to provide interventions in order to improve the service users' quality of life, including facilitating a program of social, creative, and skills-based activities.
Duties
* The activities coordinator will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a range of group and individual social and recreational activities on and off the ward on a consistent basis.
* The activities coordinator will ensure that a range of activities and suitable resources are available for other staff to utilize in their absence to ensure continuity of activity provision.
* Participate in delivering, monitoring, and evaluating individual care plans in relation to individuals’ participation in activity.
* Actively involve patients in deciding and planning their participation in activities and ensure that this reflects patients' assessed needs.
Working for our organisation

You could be part of a Trust rated by staff as one of the best mental health and learning disability trusts in England, in an area heralded as a fantastic place to live and work.
