We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to join our friendly team at the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital, providing support, advice and guidance on employee matters relating to all our staff.
You will support our People & Culture team in providing administrative support and dealing with calls made to our Advice Line. These calls will be across a range of employee issues, such as policy, procedure, pay queries, terms and conditions and giving support to our Leaders on managing absences, disciplinary and grievance cases. We will also involve you in taking minutes of meetings, room bookings and supporting the People & Culture team.
This is a real opportunity for you to get involved in a pro-active and supportive People & Culture team, with the ability to grow your employee relations knowledge and develop into other areas of the wider team. Human resources experience would be beneficial, but is not essential as we will give you a structured training and development plan on appointment.
We are looking for a full-time secondment/fixed term contract (until end of July 2025), Employee Relations Officer, with normal working hours being Monday to Friday, with start and finish times agreed on appointment. The post will be based at the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital, Margate, although we promote hybrid working to support flexibility. Some travel across Trust sites may be necessary to cover the role but this will be infrequent.
To provide comprehensive support to the People & Culture Team and an advisory service to managers and employees, answering queries relating to employee relations and terms and conditions.

• The provision of employee relations support and advice on a range of employee relations issues. To include some of the following matters:-• pay queries
• terms and conditions advice (e.g. annual leave, sickness, enhancements, parental leave)
• policy and procedure advice
• Undertake employee relations administration including but not limited to the updating and maintenance of relevant HR systems and databases, administration relating to parental leave (maternity, adoption, and shared parental) generating letters / documentation, preparing notes / actions of meetings and arrangements for meetings as and when required.
• Undertake and assist with audits and projects where appropriate.
• Administer job matching process including consistency checking, arranging job matching panels and maintenance of computerised job matching system.
• Undertake the creation and distribution of standard IT reports in relation to employee relations activity.
• Review and assist with drafting standard HR operating procedures and policies where required
