Our community healthcare teams in adults and children's services are employed by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and deployed to us, linking closely with our colleagues in Manchester Local Care Organisation. Our teams work as one and together we will make a massive difference to the health of people in Trafford.
We are looking to recruit a trained/untrained Phlebotomist to join our team. For this role, it is necessary that you are a caring and courteous individual that can work under pressure in a challenging environment. You will be responsible for carrying out venipuncture working across the Trafford/Manchester Footprint for patients in their own homes, Care/Nursing homes, and in clinics to meet service needs. As such, it is essential that you have a full UK driving license and a vehicle insured for business use.
The phlebotomist will respond to phlebotomy requests for patients in the Primary Care Setting. They will work as a team under the direction and guidance of the Phlebotomy Supervisor and Phlebotomy Manager. The service will be provided at a variety of clinics across Trafford & Manchester.
Main duties of the job
1. The Phlebotomist will respond to phlebotomy requests for patients in the Primary Care Setting.
2. They will work as a team under the direction and guidance of the Phlebotomy Supervisor and Phlebotomy Manager.
3. The service will be provided at a variety of clinics across Trafford & Manchester in addition to visiting housebound patients in their own homes or residential/nursing homes.
4. The phlebotomist will work with minimal clinical supervision and without direct supervision following completion of an approved training course.
5. As part of an ongoing development programme/Job description, the clinician may be required to provide Health care checks e.g. Blood pressure monitoring, Height, and weight checks.
6. The post holder will work without direct supervision. Applications are invited from flexible individuals for the above post. Phlebotomy experience is not essential as full training will be given.
