Our Mission
At Vertical Aerospace, we are pioneering the way for electric aviation. The VX4, our eVTOL (electric, vertical, take-off and landing), ‘zero emissions’ aircraft will set a new safety standard for how we will navigate the sky.
We won’t realise our mission following the same legacy processes and traditions our predecessors followed, instead, we want to ‘redefine’ aerospace best practices.
We are growing quickly from a prototype business to a scaling SME, and the next few years will be critical to our success and delivering on our ambitious goals of having the VX4 in service by 2030.
What to expect
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as the Head of Independent System Monitoring. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with UK CAA regulations and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality within our organisation.
The successful candidate will hold a Form 4 approval and will be responsible for overseeing all independent monitoring activities. They will need deep aviation/aerospace expertise and knowledge of certification and compliance processes for developing novel (VTOL/EVTOL) aircraft.
This will be an extremely challenging but incredibly rewarding role for a fantastic leader in their field that will play an important role in helping to redefine aerospace best practices and transform how we think about transportation.
What you’ll do
1. Compliance Oversight: Ensure all operations comply with UK CAA regulations and company policies.

1. Demonstrable experience in an auditing/compliance senior level role within the aviation/aerospace industry.
2. A track record of success in building great relationships with external regulatory bodies, internal engineering and quality departments and external compliance and auditing firms.
3. Hands-on experience in leading an organisation to comply with UK or EASA aviation regulations and industry policies.
4. In-depth knowledge of UK CAA regulations and compliance requirements. Seen as a deep subject matter expert in your field.

6. Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills is essential.
7. A very high level of attention to detail and commitment to quality is essential.
