The Opportunity
Assist Skipton Site EHS Manager in the implementation of new/amended Health & Safety Policies, Procedures and Standards to ensure effective deployment across site. Help to develop and continually improve site processes working alongside EHS Coordinator.
Role Responsibility
1. Assist EHS & Facilities manager in rollout of Group Health & Safety Policies and Procedures at site level across all departments including COSHH, Engineering & Process Safety.
2. Manage, maintain and develop site safety procedures and standards
3. Develop & organise EHS documentation and processes in preparation for ISO14001 and ISO45001 certification
4. Carry out regular safety training & maintain matrices across all departments
5. Provide regular performance reports to EHS Manager to determine weekly/monthly progress on the annual safety strategy
6. Work alongside health and safety reps to develop & coach departmental safety on site and enhance site safety culture.
7. Assist in driving environmental improvement activities to reduce the sites environmental impact to air, water and land.
8. Support in day to day H&S & Facilities activities where required.
The Ideal Candidate
9. NEBOSH Cert / Diploma or Degree from an OHS Discipline
10. ISO 14001 & 45001 Internal Auditor trained
11. Positive, can do attitude
12. Target driven
13. Quality minded
14. Ability to work under pressure
15. Able to work cross-functionally
16. Experience in carrying out risk assessments
17. Thorough understanding of COSHH Regulations & Best practice
18. Fundamental knowledge of UK H&S Legislation & HSE Regulations
19. Practical experience in an operational environment required
Due to the nature of our business, all successful candidates must complete a basic DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service check) before employment can commence, and at regular intervals during employment. Dechra will pay for this check.
