About the Role
Based at Future Farm, Duchy College, Stoke Climsland, we are looking for an Assistant Herdsperson to work alongside the Herd/Farm Director as part of our proactive dairy team who manage 200 milking cows.
Key Duties
Key duties will include calf rearing, milking, herd feed and grazing allocating, cattle health treatments, calving and mating, and generally overseeing and being responsible for the herd alongside and when the Herd manager is absent.
Skills & Experience
Applicants must have a positive attitude, a good work ethic, and a desire to work outdoors and alongside nature, with punctuality, attention to detail, and communication skills being the key. Work will involve alternate weekends. Living locally to reduce commuting time would be advantageous. Accommodation could be considered as part of the package offered.
Hours of Work
This role is on a full-time basis (job share could also be considered).
