Who we are Zedsen is a cutting-edge health technology startup based in London, focused on transforming breast cancer detection through our innovative, non-invasive sensor technology. Our proprietary sensors and advanced algorithms enable us to detect subtle changes in breast tissue, offering a safer, accessible, and cost-effective alternative to traditional screening methods. Our mission is to easy access to accurate, low cost breast cancer screening solutions. Ultimately this will improve patient outcomes, reduce healthcare costs, and save lives. What you’ll do Developing novel sensing modalities requires a synchrony between system hardware design, signal processing and algorithmic development. At Zedsen the hardware and algorithms teams work in close collaboration to understand how hardware modifications and design iterations effect system performance. This spans a wide range of approaches, from component level analysis to bench-top and clinical system analysis and system simulation. This role will serve as a key bridge between the hardware and algorithm/simulation teams, examining the effect of hardware design changes with data analysis and simulation insights. You will work closely with both teams to interpret how hardware modifications impact system performance and use system simulations to advise further system improvements. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate on projects like clinical data analysis pipelines and other focus areas that are central to advancing Zedsen’s technology. Key Responsibilities · Collaborating with our hardware team to analyses in-house data sets. · Using and extending our numerical simulation stack to support hardware decisions · Proposing investigations to improve our understanding of system performance · Collaborating with our external manufacturers to ensure devices meet specs and capture any insights for further development. Requirements Essentials · Degree in electronics / biomedical engineering / physics (2:1 minimum) · Master’s degree in electronics / biomedical engineering / physics OR 2 years’ experience in industry · Experience assembling systems which use electromagnetic sensing (e.g. impedance sensors, ECG/EEG systems, etc.) · Experience with data processing or analysis in Python Desirable Criteria · Knowledge of finite element method simulation · Experience with collaborative code development via GitHub/BitBucket · Enthusiasm to produce high quality work – we are producing medical devices Benefits · Share Options · Private Medical and Dental Cover · 5% Employer Pension Contribution · Life and Health Insurance · Lunch at work · Flexible working environment – 2 days / week required in the office: flexibility to work remotely at company discretion. · 25 days annual leave · Bonus scheme (subject to meeting company milestones and company policy) · Opportunities for growth: learn from a supportive team, attend workshops and short courses which align with delivering company goals (subject to managerial approval). How We Work The Algorithms and Analysis team at Zedsen is a diverse group of dynamic and enthusiastic engineers and scientists. We all contribute to development ideas, strategy and code. We work collaboratively. Your ideas will be welcome and challenged, and you will need to give constructive feedback on suggestions proposed by others.
