The Role:
As Foreperson, you’ll be at the heart of our on-site operations, overseeing high-quality painting and refurbishment projects. You’ll be responsible for managing teams, ensuring work meets the highest standards, and maintaining a strong focus on health and safety. From mentoring apprentices to liaising with clients and contractors, you’ll lead by example and ensure smooth project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage a team of skilled tradespeople, delivering exceptional painting, plastering, and roofline works.
* Ensure projects are completed to the highest standards, on time and within budget.
* Liaise with Contract Managers and Surveyors to track progress and address any issues.
* Manage site safety and health practices, delivering Toolbox Talks and maintaining a safe working environment.
* Order materials, monitor waste, and help keep projects running efficiently.
* Mentor team members and train future Forepersons and Apprentices.
* Complete weekly/monthly paperwork and ensure accurate reporting of job completion.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience in a lead role within the painting and or refurbishment sector, especially in social housing.
* Strong technical knowledge of painting, refurbishment or plastering / multiskilled
* A valid CSCS card and ability to work at heights.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead by example.
* A keen eye for detail and commitment to delivering quality.
* Ability to motivate and mentor a team.
* Reliable, trustworthy, and dedicated to safety and quality.
Additional Skills & Requirements:
* Experience managing projects, tracking progress, and meeting deadlines.
* Flexible, adaptable, and able to work under pressure.
* Basic IT skills for reporting and communication.
* A passion for delivering excellent customer service.
