Site Manager (Civil)
Required Qualifications: CSCS, SMSTS
Experience: Heavy civils and piling experience is required.
Berkshire Talent Partnership is searching for a contract site manager to deliver a Gas Peaking plant in Essex. This is a 12-18 month contract with the opportunity to extend and/or move onto different projects within the portfolio.
Working with the PM as the Principal Contractor Site Rep for the project, the Site Manager will be responsible for:
* Accountable for H&S performance for assignment projects and ensuring that policies are implemented effectively and reporting on safety performance.
* Suggesting ways in which the company can improve safety performance.
* Developing the construction execution plans for the project.
* Ensuring compliance with the CDM regulations for the projects, including but not limited to:
o Preparation of the CPP.
o Preparation of Traffic Management Plan.
o Arranging adequate welfare.
* Ensuring suitably qualified and experienced contractors/staff are utilized on the project.
* Ensuring permit to work and RAMS review procedures are implemented.
* Contributing to project schedule development and monitoring and control of the schedule. Ensuring the construction team provides short-term lookahead and holds daily and weekly coordination meetings.
* Providing assistance to the organizational leadership in delivering portfolio objectives.
* Implementing/developing the project inspection and test plan including management of quality on the projects.
* Resource planning for projects.
* Managing risks and issues.
* Ensuring projects are closed out effectively and the various contractors discharge their obligations under the contract.
* Oversight of contractor/vendor H&S requirements, method statements, and risk assessments.
* Ensuring the company complies with the relevant legislation applicable to the projects.
* Establishing effective communication with all project stakeholders.
* Ensuring the projects are being managed in accordance with the project execution plan and associated procedures.
* At practical completion, coordinating handover and ensuring that all appropriate inspections and tests are made.
* Closely monitoring the contractors and taking all steps necessary to mitigate the impact of claims under the relevant contracts.
