Kingdown School is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant (Literacy) to its dedicated Curriculum Support Team and provide support to young people across all age ranges and abilities. Working Hours: Part time (18 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 39 weeks per year, includes teacher Training Days). The post holder will work under supervision and direction of the Higher Level Teaching Assistant of Reading Hub, usually outside the classroom – working with students who need support to fill gaps in literacy and reading. They will be part of a diagnostic literacy team so that precise diagnosis can be followed by evidence-based strategies, which support reading fluency; phonics and blending, and comprehension. You will receive professional training and support from our dedicated team of literacy specialists. successful candidate will be able to work flexibly to support all students, including those requiring SEN support.
