About The Role: As a Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will provide tailored support to students with a range of additional needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges, ADHD and speech and language difficulties. Your role will involve working on a 1:1 basis as well as supporting small groups, ensuring that each child receives the personalised attention they need to reach their full potential. Responsibilities of Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA): Assist in the development and implementation of personalised learning plans to support students with SEN. Provide 1:1 and small group support, adapting teaching strategies to suit individual learning needs. Encourage and promote positive behaviour management strategies to help students develop confidence and independence. Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment. Foster strong relationships with students, helping them feel safe, valued and motivated in their learning. Support students with social and emotional regulation, using appropriate interventions when required. Assist in maintaining a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment. Provide feedback to teachers and parents regarding student progress and well-being. The successful candidate will: A genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs. Previous experience with SEN or transferable skills is a must. An understanding of various SEN conditions, including ASD, ADHD and SEMH. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff. A patient, resilient and empathetic approach to working with children. A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
