We have an exciting opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our Primary Care team at HMP YOI Moorland, a category C men's Prison and Young Offenders Institution, near Hatfield Woodhouse in West Yorkshire.
Within this role, you will be working across our West Yorkshire Cluster of prisons which will include HMP Leeds, Wakefield, Wealstun, and New Hall.

Hours: 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
Salary: This position is full-time, you will receive an annual salary up to £53,277 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Speech and Language Therapist, your responsibilities will vary:
* You need expert clinical skills and be able to take a holistic approach to patient-centered care.
* Delivering with autonomy a comprehensive speech and language therapy service to your own caseload within the prison, inclusive of a comprehensive specialist assessment and differential diagnosis of all aspects of communication, language, speech, voice, fluency, eating, and drinking for patients referred to the service.
* Provide outstanding evidence-based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalized and informed by what matters to them.
* You will provide clinical leadership for the Speech and Language pathway within the prison.
* Working in a multi-disciplinary team made up of a variety of registered and non-registered professionals including primary care, mental health, social care, end-of-life care, and substance misuse practitioners.

Qualifications required
* You should be an established speech and language therapist with experience of pathway development and change management.
* You will have experience working as a Speech and Language therapist within a large multi-disciplinary team, ideally across multiple sites/locations, as well as being Health Professions Council Licence to Practice.
* The focus is subject expert leadership rather than leading a team and therefore candidates will require excellent partnership building, time management, and organisation skills.
* Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working.
* Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF.
