This is a newly created role to support our ambitious affordable homes delivery programme of 500 homes a year. You ll be joining a friendly, dedicated team who work closely together and support each other in our vision to provide safe quality homes, services and communities that matter to our customers. Working with our contractor and consultant partners, you ll collaboratively build great places to live across the North East, Yorkshire and Humberside. You ll be key in ensuring that we stay ahead of changes in legislation and drive best practice across our development programme. Buy/Sell Annual Leave Key Responsibilities: Co-ordinate, liaise and prepare designs to support the delivery of all major new build developments across Thirteen, whilst ensuring the highest quality of technical support for the business. Manage the design and specification of a range of house types, working with internal teams as well as external consultants and contractors. Your broad understanding of current design and technical standards will enable you to continue to develop our house type range and project specifications across a range of projects. This will range from small infills, up to large scale regeneration projects. Sustainable housing design and placemaking are key aspects of the role to support our vision, along with Future Homes Standards, Modern Methods of Construction and net zero policy. Work with external design consultants, contractors and developers to manage the design brief and scope of services, including setting and managing an appropriate fee budget. Ensure good, sustainable housing design and value for money. About You: A background in design and technical management from a consultancy or the housebuilding sector. Excellent understanding of building regulations, NHBC and planning process, CDM regulations and environmental legislation. Full understanding of good housing design and a track record of delivery. An excellent communicator who can inspire and drive quality across the project team, exerting influence on consultants and contractors. You ll help create a scheme vision that all will be excited to deliver. An appreciation of the challenges in building housing, especially within social housing today.
