Responsibilities: Oversee the development and implementation of alternative provision programs tailored to students who require non-traditional learning pathways. Collaborate with external providers, including vocational training centres, therapy programs, and alternative education institutions, to ensure students have access to a broad range of learning opportunities. Develop individual learning plans (ILPs) for students, working closely with teaching staff, parents, and external providers to set and monitor educational and personal goals. Regularly assess student progress and adjust learning plans to meet evolving needs, ensuring that each student receives the support they require to succeed. Provide pastoral care and guidance to students, fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where students feel valued and motivated to engage in learning. Work closely with the school’s leadership team, SENCo, and teachers to ensure that all alternative provision activities align with the overall educational objectives of the school. Monitor attendance, behaviour, and academic performance of students in alternative provision, addressing any issues promptly and coordinating interventions as needed. Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures, maintaining a secure environment for all students. Liaise with parents, guardians, and relevant stakeholders to provide regular updates on student progress and outcomes. Stay up to date with national policies and best practices regarding alternative education, continuously improving the school's provision. Experience and Qualifications: Experience in coordinating or working with alternative education pathways, youth work, or similar roles. Strong understanding of the needs of students who require alternative educational approaches, including those with special educational needs, behavioural challenges, or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with external providers, parents, and students. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and create individualized plans that foster student growth. Experience in working with vulnerable or at-risk young people is highly desirable.
