As such we have an excellent opportunity for an Quantity Surveyor to join our highly experienced, multi-disciplined Quantity Surveying team in Leeds to support the delivery of technical service to new and existing clients, primarily within the Public Sector.
This will give you the chance to work alongside an experienced team of surveying professionals and provide a full range of services to a number of development projects. As part of this team, you will be responsible for a number of duties to ensure we provide a comprehensive surveying services to our clients, including:
The Role
In this role, you will provide services at all stages of quantity surveying projects, collaborating with our team, clients and third parties to prepare and present tender documentation, alongside:
* Preparing feasibility studies, preliminary estimates, cost plans, databases, tender and other analysis and advising on the economics of design at the early stages of a project.
* Providing advice on the use of whole life costing techniques.
* Preparing high quality tender documentation undertaking pricing documentation during tender periods.
* Undertaking preliminary analysis of tenders, preparing cost breakdowns and initial cost profile under supervision and negotiating contract sums.
* Controlling all post contract procedures, making valuations for payments, producing financial reports and monitoring actual and anticipated expenditure.
* Assisting Contract Administrators in the preparation of AI's, evaluation of claims for extensions of time.
* Assisting in the project management of schemes, setting objectives, providing direction, advising on related matters including issuing progress reports and in post contract reviews.
* Preparing final accounts and agreeing with contractor, including verifying claims and dealing with audit procedures.
* Identifying new business opportunities.
Our Successful Candidate:
* Proven experience in a similar Quantity Surveying role, demonstrating the ability to undertake work at all stages of a project.
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related discipline
* Professional Membership of the RICS, working towards (or the desire to achieve) Chartered Status.
* Knowledge of up-to-date Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations and familiar with health and safety legislation and risks and hazards associated with asbestos.
* Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to present findings confidently to all levels of the business.
* Currently hold a CSCS card, or be willing to attain.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Experience of using BCIS Online and NBS Building (Desirable)
* Project Management experience on a range of building works of differing sizes and types (Desirable)
