Interim Complex Repairs Surveyor - Asset Management

Pay Rate: £28.81 per hour PAYE
35 hours, Monday – Friday, normal working hours
This opening assignment is for 3 months
City: EALING, LONDON
Note: The role will require ladder and scaffold access to some projects.
Key responsibilities:
* Clearly specify all required works for contractor delivery.
* Manage/quality inspect works when presented by the contractor both during and upon completion of works in accordance with the specification and ensure an electronic record is kept of inspections.
* Ensure the contractor is delivering a high quality, customer-focused service.
* Adhere strictly to the Council's Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
* Advise the relevant manager of any concerns regarding quality or deviation from the agreed specification.
* Attend weekly L1 performance meetings and provide feedback on progress.
* Instruct and direct the contractor where minor changes are required on site as a result of discoveries during the works and advise the relevant manager on a weekly basis so that formal instructions may be issued.
* Immediately report to the relevant manager any immediate Health and Safety concerns.
* Liaise regularly with contractors.
* Ensure contractors adhere to their on-site contractual obligations.
Key requirements:
* A suitable qualification from an appropriate body such as CIOB, RICS, or CIH.
* Possession of a vehicle and a clean driving licence.
* Knowledge of construction and maintenance in a Social Housing environment.
* Knowledge of health & safety legislation and processes in relation to social housing.
* Knowledge of housing management systems.
* Demonstrable experience and knowledge of building construction.
* Trade role experience.
* Experience of delivering a customer-focused service.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Excellent time management skills.
* Ability to give technical advice to contractors.
Desirable:
* A relevant housing qualification.
