Oakley Food Projects are here to meet the needs of food, drink and pharmaceutical manufacturers in the UK looking to move, expand and future-proof their production facilities.
We are looking for a detail-oriented assistant to support our Contracts Manager and wider Operational team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in sourcing new suppliers and managing the purchasing of construction materials, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services.
Duties:
* Ensuring all materials are ordered and delivered to sites on time and in the most cost-effective manner.
* Assist in finding suppliers and quotes for materials, equipment, and labour required on site.
* Raise detailed POs to order and manage the process right through to delivery on-site.
* Monitor and add to detailed cost trackers for each job, including matching supplier invoices with POs and approving them on the system.
* Source new suppliers and sub-contractors and build partnerships.
* Efficient management of plant and tools on hire and off-hiring as required.
* Maintain good communication with site managers and sub-contractors to ensure they are aware of upcoming deliveries etc.
* Present cost analyses to the management team.
* Day to day admin support to the Contracts Manager and Operations team.
Experience Required:
* 2+ years' experience in a purchasing role.
* 2+ years' experience within the construction industry.
Competencies:
* Highly competent in Microsoft based applications including Excel.
* Confidence whilst communicating with others F2F and via telephone and email.
* Good standard of organisation and time management.
* Ability to act on own initiative.
* Good attention to detail, ensuring POs raised are detailed with the correct information for others to act upon.
* Detail oriented with strong numeracy and analytical skills.

Office based in Winnersh RG41 5HU, 39 hours per week.
Monday to Thursday working hours 8am – 5pm, and Friday 8am – 4pm.
£40,000 - £50,000 per annum.
