The Station Chemist role comes with a basic salary range of £62,000 - £70,000. Additional overtime (x1.5) available as required and during outage periods. THE ROLE
We are looking for a station chemist experienced in water treatment chemistry, preferably in a process environment including steam generating systems, cooling towers and chemical reactors. The candidate will preferably have experience in managing contracts and contract staff, and have a safety and environmental focus. The role will also include:
* Legionella Competent Person under the regulations
* Management of contracts for chemical services, bulk chemical supplies, duty of care waste and hazardous waste disposals.
* COSHH management.
* MCERTS management and primary contact with the Environment Agency.
* Company advisor for confined space safety.
* Responsible Purchaser of Reportable Explosive Precursors and Poisons.
THE PERSON
We are seeking a self-motivated individual who can operate both independently and as part of our well-established team to achieve company objectives. You will be working alongside the maintenance, operations, and business departments. You will collaborate and support maintenance, operations, and contract staff, who will facilitate delivery management and day-to-day analysis duties.
Other attributes to include:
* Competent use of Microsoft Office products.
* Legislation analysis to determine impact on the business and advise management accordingly.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills to work with colleagues from different departments, and be lead liaison with Environment Agency inspectors.
* A team player with a positive and optimistic approach.
* Capable of working flexibly in a technically challenging and dynamic environment.
