The general pharmacy department is looking to recruit a pharmacy assistant to perform general duties which will support the efficient running of the department. We are looking for an enthusiastic pharmacy assistant to join our highly motivated and focused teams. The successful candidate will receive the required training for the post.
This will be a split role between RCHT and SMH (Hayle).
The post holder will work from 8:30 AM till 5 PM four days of the week and 10:30 AM till 7 PM one day of the week.
Main duties of the job
1. The post holder would be expected to work towards a BTEC level 2 certificate in Principles and Practice for pharmacy support staff.
2. Experience in dealing with the public.
3. Good organisational skills.
4. Demonstrate high levels of accuracy in all areas of work.
5. Able to work with PCs, input data, and other information.
6. The post holder will be required to undertake further education, training, and validation before being allowed to undertake the duties required of this post.
7. The post holder will also have to deal with telephone enquiries into the department and will have to use their knowledge and experience to answer the query or pass it on to a relevant member of the pharmacy department.
8. Be able to work in a team or autonomously when working on the wards during top-up duties.
9. To participate in GDP training to meet the requirements of the wholesale dealer licence.
10. To undertake all mandatory training as requested by the Trust.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good general education including GCSE grade C in Maths and English.
* NVQ 2 in pharmacy services.
Experience

* Able to demonstrate good levels of accuracy in all areas of work.
* Good computer and keyboard skills.
