We are looking for a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional support for students in SEN schools. If you are patient, flexible, and eager to support children with diverse needs, we would love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
* One-to-One and Group Support: Assist students in their learning and development through individualized support and small group interventions.
* Adaptability: Work flexibly to meet the changing needs of students with a wide range of SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and sensory impairments.
* Collaborative Working: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure students receive tailored support that aligns with their Personal Learning Plans (PLPs).
* Behavioral and Emotional Support: Use positive behavior management techniques and assist students in developing emotional regulation and social skills.
* Personal Care (as required): Provide physical support to students with mobility issues or assist in personal care tasks where needed (e.g., toileting, feeding).
* Assistive Technology: Support students in using communication aids, sensory equipment, and other assistive technologies as part of their learning journey.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience in SEN settings is preferred but not essential—training will be provided for the right candidate.
* A compassionate and patient individual with the ability to build strong relationships with students.
* Flexibility to adapt to different environments, students, and teaching approaches.
* Excellent communication skills, both with students and colleagues.
* A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment but is also comfortable working independently.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Qualifications:
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE) or experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
* Training in SEN-specific strategies (e.g., PECS, Makaton) is desirable, but not essential.
* Must have, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
