We have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join our expanding team in Bristol. You will be expected to: Lead and undertake assignments in the UK and overseas Receive, analyse and verify the consistency of input data Take responsibility for producing deliverables (e.g. design hypotheses, methodology and assumption notes; technical specifications; calculation notes; technical reports) Coordinate the work of CAD Designers Perform technical verifications of civil engineering design notes, models and drawings Contribute to the surveillance of anchorages designed by equipment suppliers Contribute to CDM reviews, create and maintain the Design Risk Register (DRR) Liaise with site based engineering teams to facilitate construction Assist in the management of the design process that may include other related design disciplines/teams Assist with coordinating design as part of an internal team and liaising with external associated professionals and clients Implement and adhere to Company procedures and best practice in the management, delivery and administration of Services To be successful, you will have the following qualifications and be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge in some of the following areas: Degree qualified Civil/Structural Engineer; post graduate qualifications would be beneficial Chartered (or near Chartered) in a relevant discipline (ICE, IStructE) Working knowledge of structural design processes, with an emphasis on data interpretation, design & analysis, construction and advanced numerical modelling Structural design experience, particularly in the design of industrial reinforced concrete structures Working knowledge of Eurocodes and other national and international industry standards, contracts, methodologies and procedures Experience of computer analysis and design in common materials i.e. steel and concrete Awareness of health and safety, including possession of current CSCS Card Excellent Microsoft Office abilities (particularly Excel) Experience in structural analysis/finite element software such as LUSAS, Robot and Fagus Knowledge of 3D design software such as PDMS and TEKLA Ability to consult 2D/3D drawings or models in software such as Autocad 2D and Navisworks Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively to all levels both internally and with external clients.
