Job Description
About the Role: We are seeking a motivated research assistant with a PhD in bioinformatics or computational biology to develop methods using liquid biopsy next generation sequencing data for cancer diagnostics.
We require a strong background in next generation sequencing data analysis/machine learning, cancer and/or genome research, or closely related fields. Desired criteria include knowledge of statistical methods for robust data analysis and machine learning approaches for biological/genomic data exploration and interpretation.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated with excellent communication skills, ability to work independently, and interact well in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
About the Institute / Project
The Rosenfeld lab at the Barts Cancer Institute, Queen Mary University of London, pioneers new approaches for non-invasive molecular diagnostics and analysis of cancer genomes and evolution, using next-generation sequencing of circulating cell-free tumour DNA (ctDNA).
We work with large collections of patient samples from different clinical studies, analysing by both genome-wide and targeted methods for sensitive mutation detection. Our goal is to develop novel tools for cancer diagnostics by improving methods and demonstrating clinical utility.
We also explore biophysical properties of ctDNA to identify its origins and interactions.
