Payroll Manager - Hobbycraft Head Office, BH23 6HG
Salary up to £60k dependent on experience - Pension with a 4% contribution, 25 days holiday increasing every year, 25% discount in our stores
This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours. Our core business hours are Monday to Friday – 10am to 3pm with a flexible approach to start and finish times
Our hybrid working model is 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home
Key Purpose of the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, our ideal candidate will be organised and proactive, with a good understanding of an in-house payroll service, ideally in a leadership capacity. You will have great communication skills and be able to prioritise your workload effectively. This role is based at our office in Christchurch, Dorset, with the flexibility to work remotely two days per week. As the Payroll Manager you will be supported by a Payroll Officer and be ultimately responsible for delivering an accurate and efficient payroll service for c.2,500 FTEs. This is a hands-on role, and you will be expected to have the understanding and expertise to cover all elements of the payroll process.
Essential skills and experience
* Relevant experience of leading a payroll process for a large payroll.
* Experience in dealing with payroll for both hourly and salaried employees.
* A competent user of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
* Experience in dealing with reconciliations of large data sets (e.g., between payroll systems and the general ledger).
