Let us tell you a bit about the opportunity This Second Line of Defence role is responsible for supporting the design and implementation of the Group’s anti-financial crime framework, with a primary focus on fraud risk. It provides expert oversight of financial crime risks across the Group, offering specialist guidance to business units and group functions on all aspects of financial crime. The role also includes deputising for the Head of Financial Crime Risk/MLRO as required, including acting as a Nominated Officer in line with Money Laundering Regulations. To act as an ambassador of the organisation’s Promises and to demonstrate the associated behaviours at all times. To act as an ambassador of the Bank’s vision to; Back more people to go for it in life and in business. What will your day look like? Act as an SME on fraud and financial crime risks, providing guidance and ensuring effective risk mitigation across business areas. Stay updated on regulatory changes, emerging threats, and best practices to maintain and enhance fraud frameworks. Lead strategic initiatives, system optimisations, and governance improvements to strengthen financial crime controls. Oversee adherence to financial crime risk frameworks, conducting assurance reviews and reporting exceptions. Monitor and challenge financial crime risk metrics, policy breaches, and operational effectiveness. Deliver expert training, review financial crime risks in new products, represent the team in key forums, and maintain an industry network. What do we expect from you? Extensive fraud and AML/CTF investigation and oversight experience in a multi-product business. Strong knowledge of ABC risks, financial crime regulations, and industry fraud prevention systems. Leadership and management of financial crime risk specialists with strong organisational skills. Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, including training experience. Technical expertise in relevant regulatory matters and financial crime systems testing. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
