Technical Program Manager, Security Testing

The Amazon Security Testing Team is looking for a Security Technical Program Manager to own security strategy and continuous engagement with Amazon service teams. This role will understand the complex roles and responsibilities of everyone involved in operating Amazon services, and leverage their deep experience to define and drive strategic security outcomes with business leaders at the highest levels.

This role is the voice of security for Amazon and you will be responsible for long-term strategy as well as the real-time operational needs that ensure urgent tactical issues are resolved and that teams are taking steps to head off customer impacting risks and issues.
The Amazon Security Testing organization exists to improve the defensive capability of Amazon and ensures that our systems and processes are secured against the latest threats. You will provide crystal-clear vision and direction for diverse engineering and business leaders, and connect experts from all disciplines and locations to develop solutions that would otherwise not be feasible. You will develop and manage programs and processes that enable security testing to be done at scale for Amazon.
A Security Technical Program Manager is expected to understand the systems in their program space, the limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions, and reasons behind architectural decisions. They are expected to seek out and clearly communicate relevant data to support complex business decisions, and drive the right recommendations in a compelling and effective way. They create plans that have objective, measurable success criteria and clearly communicate progress and outcomes. They anticipate the gaps between teams, processes, and system architectures to help their organisation produce the best possible results for our customers.
Key job responsibilities
1. Own your program. Build relationships to understand and guide the roadmap of all teams you support.
2. Prepare and present detailed, written information for technical and non-technical audiences.
3. Identify and produce appropriate business metrics, and continually assess them to improve over time.
4. Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organise, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
5. Obtain a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content.
6. Gather knowledge, define projects, and coordinate execution across multiple global partner teams.
7. Develop comprehensive documentation and after action reports that meet organisational standards.
8. Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience, turning insights language that sets our users up for success.
9. Evaluate current content and develop innovative approaches for improvement.
10. Apply security expertise in technical discussions, keeping all stakeholders productively engaged.
11. Directly represent our organization to business leaders and technical staff at all levels of the company.
12. Demonstrate exceptional judgment, integrity, business acumen, and communication skills.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience managing technical programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.
2. Experience working directly with engineering teams.
3. Experience with roadmap strategy and definition.
4. Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps.
5. Experience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management.
6. Experience in technical product or program management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience in technical program management working directly with software engineering teams.
