We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic, well-organised, and enthusiastic candidate to the role of AMD Coordinator within the Ophthalmology department to give a high level of patient service.

Main duties of the job
The Role of the AMD Coordinator is to provide a comprehensive and effective administrative service to support the smooth and efficient running of the Age Related Macular Degeneration Service. This includes managing the clinics on the trust system, booking clinic appointments & Therapeutic appointments within a defined timescale, secretarial duties, including the creation and sending of letters, line management of the AMD Referrals Coordinator, and liaising with the clinical team to ensure a smooth and safe patient experience.
Supporting the Medical Retina team in managing the Therapeutics patients and liaising with the coordinators to ensure patients are booked and managed within a timely manner.

Qualifications
* GCSE or equivalent Maths and English
Experience
* Reception experience which demonstrates experience of dealing with the general public both on telephone and in person in a busy environment
* Significant customer service experience within an NHS environment
* Working within a multidisciplinary team.
* Supervisory experience.
Knowledge
* Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with people at all levels
* Ability to influence others positively and act as a role model within a small team
* Good time management and organisational skills to meet tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure
* Maintain a calm and professional manner when dealing with challenging people and distressed patients
* Ability to prioritise own workload and help others to prioritise
* Knowledge of Trust information systems
Skills
* Good computer skills in particular MS Office/Microsoft Outlook.
* Ability to influence others positively and act as a role model within a small team.
* Good time management and organisational skills to meet tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
* Maintain a calm and professional manner when dealing with challenging people and distressed patients.
