We are looking for you as Head of Safety (f/m/d) for DB Cargo UK located in Doncaster as soon as possible.
Your tasks:
1. Ensure safety certification and regulatory compliance for DB Cargo UK and its subsidiaries
2. Develop and maintain a robust safety management system
3. Establish standards, rules, and procedures for safety, security, emergency planning, and environment
4. Act as the Director Responsible for Security (DReS) in compliance with Department for Transport requirements
5. Maintain certifications in quality and environmental standards including DIN EN ISO 45001, 9001, 14001, ISO 28000
6. Proactively collaborate with managers and key staff for continuous improvement in health, safety, and wellbeing management
7. Mentor, guide, and inspire your team, ensuring effective leadership, workforce allocation, development, and performance
8. Foster a relentless and uncompromising HSE culture, embedding these values throughout the organization
Your profile:
1. Relevant university degree and 'CMIOSH' qualification combined with a minimum of 5 years of experience in management positions, preferably in the rail industry with a clear focus on occupational health and safety
2. Proven track record in developing and implementing strategic and operational health and safety processes
3. Strong understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements and management systems (e.g., DIN EN ISO 45001, 9001, 14001, ISO 28000 and OHSAS 18001)
4. Excellent stakeholder management skills with demonstrated expertise in navigating and managing complex structures within a unionised environment
5. Remarkable interpersonal skills and distinctive experience in training, coaching, and mentoring employees to enhance their awareness and develop their health and safety expertise
6. A driven, fact-based leadership mindset combined with a high level of resilience and flexibility
7. Ability to integrate health and safety requirements into daily operations effectively
8. Readiness to travel throughout the UK and excellent English proficiency round the profile
