At Kenton, we are passionate about providing the very best education possible for young people in our city, our region and nationally, and our strong and committed team shares our vision of ensuring all our students not only reach their potential but that they are confident, happy and resilient students who treat each other with compassion and respect.
We are seeking a talented and inspiring Teacher of Science to join our team. The Science Team at Kenton consists of 14 teachers, including a Head of Faculty and three Team Leaders. Our teaching team has a range of experience, from early career teachers (ECTs) to teachers who have taught for many years. We also have a team of two experienced Science Technicians supporting the faculty. All Science Teachers at Kenton are expected to teach KS3 and KS4 Science, and there is the opportunity to teach A level Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS5. Over the past two years, the Team have worked together to enhance the curriculum experience for pupils at Kenton School. We are confident pupils are reaping the benefits of this.
To be successful, you will possess the ability to work effectively with all students, engaging them through exciting yet challenging lessons and embedding a culture of positive behaviour for learning. You will be able to promote the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people and take appropriate action when required. And, most importantly, you will be committed to our school ethos of ‘all different, all equal’, instilling high expectations in all our students. If you have the skills, commitment and enthusiasm to succeed in this role, we want to hear from you.
In return, we can offer you:
* Access to fantastic ECT support for early career teachers/professional development for those who have already passed statutory induction
* Career progression and development opportunities
* Access to the Teachers’ Pension Scheme
* Salary sacrifice schemes such as a cycle-to-work scheme

* A fantastically resourced school with easy commuting access to both the A1 and A19 and free on-site parking
