Job summary Locum Consultant in Obstetrics Applications are invited for a fulltime locum consultant post in obstetrics. The appointee will join a cohesive, friendly team of 38 consultants in obstetrics and gynaecology working across Bristol and Weston. The appointee will be an experienced obstetrician and will work with 21 other obstetricians and specialists within the department to provide a full elective and emergency obstetric service to secondary and tertiary level patients attending the hospital. Development of specialist areas of interest is encouraged and will be supported in the job plans. The appointee will work collaboratively within the department to provide secondary and tertiary level care for the wide range of medical problems referred to St. Michael's Hospital as part of the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. Main duties of the job The appointee will contribute fully to the obstetric workload of the department including delivery suite sessions and on call, and will take an active part in undergraduate and postgraduate education. Experience in clinical leadership and a keen interest to acquire leadership roles in the department is hugely welcomed. The timetable may be subject to change by mutual agreement with the Lead Doctor following job plan review. The post is based at St Michael's Hospital.
