Billericay Medical Practice has an opportunity for a receptionist/administrator to join our team, on a part-time basis for 16.5 hours per week, working Monday to Wednesday 1.00pm - 6.30pm. The main purpose of the role is to: Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone. Maintain and monitor the appointment system. Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice. Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies. Process all mail. Data entry and collation. About the Candidate To be considered for this position, you will have the following qualifications, skills & experience: Experience of primary care. Experience of working in a reception/telephone service environment. Previous typing experience. Experience of dealing with the general public/patients. Ability to work without direct supervision and determine own workload priorities. Ability to work as part of an integrated multi-skilled team. Be pleasant and articulate. Able to work under pressure in a changing environment. Able to use own initiative. Some flexibility is required, as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues. Experience of the SystmOne clinical system is desirable.
