The Employment and Training Unit is looking to recruit three experienced and motivated individuals to join its existing team. The successful candidates will co-ordinate, develop and deliver a range of employability and training activities while supporting a diverse caseload of participants, adhering to compliance requirements and fulfilling contract outcomes and targets. Assisting participants to overcome barriers to employment and progressing toward and into employment will be essential.
This role supports the Council's priority of increasing skills and employability amongst those most excluded from the labour market.
You will have excellent communication skills, be educated to at least SVQ level 3 or above, possess a positive 'can do' attitude, and have experience working with individuals who are excluded from and/or disadvantaged in the labour market. A proven track record of managing client progression is essential, and experience working with disabled people, individuals with additional support needs, and/or health conditions will be particularly welcome. Applications from individuals experienced in engaging employers, job broking, and providing in-work support will also be welcome.
Applications are sought from candidates who can demonstrate their experience of working within an employability service, delivering a personalised, client-focused approach in an employability context, and the ability to effectively undertake partnership working.
This post is temporary until April 2027 due to service requirements.
If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to carry out a Disclosure Scotland check.
