Playing an important support role at BDO, our Secretarial and Administration team contributes to our success by taking responsibility for planning and organisation. Joining this team, you’ll enjoy a friendly and supportive environment – and plenty of variety to keep you on your toes.
Working in our Cambridge Office, this key role will assist with the coordination of activities within the office itself, for example, assisting with the management of any local office contacts for reception and services.
The role is to provide support to the local Senior Team on reception duties, H&S, IT, Information Security, the Environment and CSR, and will work closely with the Partner team to enable effective planning and execution of the office administration and operational functions.
In this key role you’ll:
* Be office based in Cambridge Mon - Fri (9am – 2pm)
* Be the office go-to and contact for any visitors/contractors and the business estate team
* Carry out office checks to ensure compliance with Health & Safety (H&S), Fire & Environmental regulations.
* Conduct H&S audits on a monthly basis to support the firm’s accreditations
* Ensure paperwork is filed accordingly
* Assist in coding invoices
* Manage day-to-day office issues raised by partners and staff
* Act as Reception co-ordinator for clients and contractor visits
* Be aware of BDO policies and support staff on systems and reporting platforms.
Training will be provided to:
* Carry out the role of Chief Fire Warden for the office
* Be a First Aider
* Be Office H & S Representative and DSE Assessor for the office
We’re looking for someone with:
* Ability to work in a busy environment and meet deadlines
* Experience in a similar role is preferable
* IT literate
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Accuracy and attention to detail essential
* Must be flexible and adaptable
* Strong team worker
