To be successful you will need to:
* Be able to teach English Language and English Literature across the whole ability range in KS3 and KS4. There is the potential to teach English at KS5 for a candidate with suitable experience.
* Have skills in communication, collaboration, listening, adaptability, empathy, and patience.
* Experience of innovation and creativity to engage, enthuse and progress learners.
* Have the ability to coach and motivate colleagues to achieve individual and collective targets.
* Think creatively to anticipate and solve problems.
* Embody the values of ‘Achievement through Caring’.
* Have high expectations of yourself and be a role model to others.
* Be determined to play a pivotal part in the English Department.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Learning:
* Deliver high-quality lessons and assess student progress.
* Support the Head of Department in monitoring teaching standards and implementing effective strategies for improvement.
* Collaborate with staff to improve teaching practices and ensure a consistent approach across the department.
2. Lead StepLab:
* Lead the implementation of StepLab, ensuring its effective use by all department staff.
* Analyse data from StepLab to monitor student progress and guide interventions.
* Support the Head of Department by coordinating training and providing guidance on StepLab usage across the department.
