Manufacturing Supervisor needed for our client based in the Greater Manchester area to lead and Supervise manufacturing operations team to safely ensure the on-time delivery of finished products at correct quality and cost. To champion continuous improvement in all activities and areas of responsibility. The role holder must demonstrate flexibility and be able to work alternative shift patterns (with relevant notice periods). Main Duties will include: To ensure your team operate in accordance with the Company’s, Health Environmental and Safety policies, lead SHE activities in the relevant area. To lead the team to deliver Product to Cost and Quality requirements, ensuring that schedule adherence is met, creating recovery plans / short interval control where required. Responsible for effective deployment of resource, achieving business returned hour targets are delivered. Redeploy resource (and self) to other business units where required. Manage absence according to company procedure (holidays, sickness, disciplinary etc), RTW are carried within 24 hours of return. Fully responsible for welfare. Ensuring team competence can deliver targets, ensuring that maximum flexibility within the team and on the job / training courses are arranged and attended. Prepare daily reporting (upwards) of primary business measures. Ensure that the company Quality Management Systems and Manufacturing Procedures are followed without exception, any escapes. To maintain the competency, capability and capacity of the manufacturing team to ensure delivery of programme requirements. Personally carry out start and end of shift briefs, ensuring direct workforce receive daily communications and are kept appraised of key business topics. Responsible for the upkeep and communication of local KPIs (SQCDP) to team / and management. Leads daily auditing of workplace environment ensuring Target Conditions are met to “visitor ready” standards. Experience Required: Managing manufacturing environments safely and a firm understanding of managing risks. Leadership of Manufacturing teams in Aerospace, Automotive or similar mechanical engineering business. Leading and implementing Manufacturing schedules and recovery plans. Resource planning and competence management. Project reporting including definition and collation of KPIs Working knowledge of SAP. Computer skills (MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Equipment maintenance and PM planning. Knowledge and understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP). Completion of employee performance reviews. Qualifications & Education Degree / HND in Manufacturing or Engineering discipline 3 years in Manufacturing Supervisor experience Current driving licence IOSH / NEBOSH certificate
