Position: European Road Freight Operator - Export Groupage
Location: Witham, Essex
Salary: up to £35,000
Hours: Mon - Friday 9am-17:30pm
Our client is one of the UK's leading logistics & International Freight Forwarding businesses. They currently employ over 380 staff and are rapidly growing.
Due to continued growth plans for 2024 and beyond, we are now hiring for a European Road Freight Operator specialising in Export groupage consignments to join our dynamic team in Witham, Essex.
Senior Road Freight Operator - Key Responsibilities:
1. Run dedicated Export Groupage services via European Road Freight.
2. Develop key service relationships with customers for an effective and efficient service.
3. Develop effective relationships with overseas agents and suppliers.
4. Ability to plan a European Groupage Trailer.
5. Responsible for the Profit/Loss on the service.
6. Ensure the delivery and/or collection of goods across Europe.
7. Book appropriate transport to meet requirements of goods to be transported.
8. Quoting customers on a daily basis.
9. Provide complete manifests or delivery notes for use by transport and warehouse staff as required.
10. Comply with EU and UK regulations and requirements regarding export/import documentation.
11. Ensure that geographic knowledge is updated frequently to enable efficient and effective use of transport.
12. Provide assistance and cover in other areas of the operation team as required.
13. Attend regular reviews of performance and annual appraisal meetings with manager.
Requirements:
1. Experience in freight forwarding EU Road essential but will consider junior candidates.
2. Good knowledge of EU Road freight movements.
3. Experience in planning and dealing with export European groupage markets.
4. Able to work in a team quoting and working with customers.
5. Understanding of international European freight markets and distribution tariffs.
6. Experience of working with European forwarders and hauliers.
7. Able to liaise and work with warehouses planning and loading trailers.
