Based within the Programme Management Office, we are looking for a Project Coordinator to support a wide portfolio of projects, involving internal and external customers!
We need an organised and service-focused individual who is driven to provide quality information and documentation that supports the PMO and the wider business.
Initially reporting to the Senior Director (PMO), this is a key position and your success in this role will be central to the success of the team.
This role would be ideal for someone looking to start their journey as a project professional and has a huge opportunity for growth and development as the business matures!
This position will be located at the Cambridge headquarters; however, a reasonable level of flexible working can be accommodated.
Key Responsibilities
Working closely with the Senior Director (PMO) and project/programme managers, you will be expected to support the PMO with the following strategic functions:
1. Project Delivery – responsibilities include assisting with resource planning, organising the programme of team meetings, development seminars and training activities, and providing support for the project and programme managers.
2. Centre of Excellence – responsibilities include ensuring that processes are documented, the supporting templates and records are managed and controlled, the project assurance function is operational, risks and lessons learned are consistently applied, documented and shared across all projects, and information is organised and available to the PMO members and key stakeholders.
3. Portfolio Management – responsibilities include ensuring we have consistent, efficient and effective reporting for projects, standardising financial reporting and management of wider business information through the monthly Business Execution Meeting.
In addition to this, there is an expectation that you'll play an active role in the success of the PMO. This could include acting as project assurance for other projects, contributing to the programme of development seminars and deputising for more senior staff as required.
Qualifications & Training
Essential
* A level qualifications (or equivalent).
Desirable
* MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) – formal training/qualifications to an intermediate or advanced level in any of these packages is desirable.
* Any project management training would be beneficial but not essential as this will form part of the development plan for this role.
Skills & Experience
Essential
* Experience in a Project Coordinator related role, or a similar administrative organisational role.
* Have evidence of your organisational capability through the selection process.
* Knowledge of the core competences involved in project management.
* Understanding on how to organise systems and information for efficiency and effectiveness, keeping things simple where possible.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable delivering effective presentations.
* Your documentation will be exemplary, and you will be able to evidence this with examples.
* Competent in using office IT systems at an intermediate level, e.g. MS Office and Project.
Desirable
* Working for an early-stage technology development or product development organisation.
* Experience of working in a manufacturing organisation.
* Knowledge of the standard approach to project management.
* Experience of working within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
* A formal Project Management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, PMQ, etc).
* Knowledge of Atlassian JIRA and Confluence, ERPs, IFS, etc.
